Job description

Heavy Civil Superintendent
A well-established heavy civil construction firm is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale bridge, highway, and transit projects - the kind that shape an area for decades.
You'll direct a team of superintendents across earthworks and structures, keeping subcontractors, craft workers, and schedules aligned, while serving as the go-to for technical direction, real-time problem-solving, and site logistics.
What you'll do:

  • Supervise and direct superintendents across earthworks and structures construction, coordinating subcontractors and craft workers to keep schedule and quality on track
  • Lead site logistics planning, project scheduling, and onsite coordination alongside project management
  • Enforce contract requirements, safety plans, and efficient use of materials and equipment across field operations
  • Provide technical guidance with interpreting drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, and supporting project procedures and documentation


What you bring:

  • 15+ years in construction including 10+ years as a Superintendent on heavy civil projects
  • Previous superintendent experience on bridge, highway, or transit projects valued at $200M+
  • Familiarity with contract management and local trade/union environments; experience with City, State, or Federal clients is a plus
  • Proficiency of MS Word/Excel, Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, or similar tools
  • OSHA and First Aid certifications required
