Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for Information Technology (IT) systems. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the IT system infrastructure and related processes. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation of client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and other components. You will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. Additionally, you will communicate with agency management and internal customers regarding the status of escalated issues. Your responsibilities will also include handling dispatch system and hardware problems, configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, and optimizing network components to enhance reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform security scans to ensure system integrity.
- Administer Linux systems and oversee their day-to-day operations.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using Elastic products, such as Grafana and Kibana.
- Utilize Jira for workflow management and Confluence for documentation and artifact sharing.
- Provision virtual machine resources as needed.
- Manage account systems using TPAM for efficient account management.
- Coordinate planned and unplanned outages, ensuring minimal disruption and employing tools like STINGRAY.
Requirements:
- Ten (10) years of experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of additional Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with system security and running security scans.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration.
- Experience monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues with Elastic products (Grafana, Kibana).
- Knowledge of Jira for workflow management and Confluence for documentation sharing.
- Ability to provision virtual machine resources.
- Familiarity with TPAM for efficient account management.
- Experience coordinating planned and unplanned outages, including the use of STINGRAY.
