System Administrator – TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph (FSP)

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD 
Work Model: 100% Onsite
Type: Direct Hire (W2)
Compensation: Up to $150,000/year 
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with FSP 

About the Role

We’re hiring System Administrators at multiple experience levels to support mission-critical operations in Linux-based, high-performance environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, optimizing system performance, and working closely with engineering and operations teams to keep essential infrastructure reliable and available.

This team includes professionals who specialize in platformnetwork, and storage engineering—but everyone is expected to contribute to core Linux system administration and operational sustainment work.


What You’ll Do
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems and infrastructure supporting mission operations
  • Install, configure, and administer Linux operating systems and applications
  • Manage file systems, networking services, and system resources
  • Troubleshoot operating system and application issues in complex environments
  • Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate administrative tasks
  • Compile, install, configure, and support software applications
  • Support automation and configuration management initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineering/operations teams to resolve issues and improve performance
  • Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Participate in upgrades, maintenance windows, and operational support activities

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Linux administration experience with one or more of the following:
    • RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, SLES, Ubuntu
  • Experience with:
    • Linux installation/configuration
    • File system administration
    • TCP/IP networking fundamentals
    • OS and application troubleshooting
    • Bash scripting
    • Software compilation and installation
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting skills and ability to work both independently and on a team

Nice to Have (Strongly Preferred)
  • Exposure to or understanding of High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or mission-critical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with high-speed networking such as InfiniBand and/or Slingshot
  • Tools/Platforms:
    • Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, Git, Salt, Ansible
Storage / Networking Experience (A Plus)

If you have a background in storage, networking, or infrastructure engineering, you’re highly encouraged to apply.

Storage technologies (preferred):

  • Lustre configuration/administration/troubleshooting
  • DDN Exascaler appliances
  • Storage fabric design/support
  • Storage performance tuning/optimization

Networking technologies (preferred):

  • Enterprise routing/switching (Cisco / Juniper / Arista)

Bonus (emerging tech exposure):

  • E1000 Storage Systems, ESNs, DAOS, Weka

Benchmarking/diagnostics tools:

  • IOR, iperf, FIO, lnet_selftest
