Position Summary:
The Health Information Systems Manager provides operational and technical leadership for WellPower's health information systems, overseeing the full lifecycle of health information across electronic and hybrid environments. This role is accountable for the integrity, availability, security, and appropriate use of clinical and health information systems, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, system performance, data integration, and vendor coordination.
Serving as a primary liaison between WellPower and health information systems application vendors, the Health Information Systems Manager partners closely with internal stakeholders across Information Systems, Compliance, Privacy, and clinical operations to ensure systems are effectively implemented, integrated, optimized, and aligned with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements. This role leads system configuration, integration, reporting, and enhancement efforts to support high-quality clinical documentation, disclosure accuracy, and enterprise data needs.

The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.
Job Duties & Functions:
  • Collaborates closely with the Privacy and Security Officers to identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies in health information workflows, EHR functionality, and documentation practices, and elevates concerns to leadership with recommendations.
  • Collaborates closely with our Training and Development team to support the creation and reinforcement of HIM-related policies, procedures, job aids, and training materials.
  • Serves as HIM subject matter expert on organizational projects, including EHR enhancements, form development, system integrations, and workflow redesign.
  • Participates in advisory committees and cross-functional initiatives related to health information, privacy, and digital health tools.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between WellPower, our IT partners, and our health information systems vendors (e.g., Netsmart).
  • Ensures integrity, performance, security, reliability and compliance of all systems and servers.
  • Enforces requirement for well-organized documentation of all systems and processes.
  • Consults with management and staff on development of programs, scripts, and other tools to meet application, data, and reporting needs.
  • Oversee the maintenance, improvements, and updates of application and data and reporting infrastructure.
  • Ensures that systems have proper controls and safeguards for protected health information.
  • Provides EHR application support to workforce members and perform problem analysis and resolution of day-to-day EHR system problems.
  • Performs other duties or tasks assigned to support departmental operations and organizational needs.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree related to health care, behavioral health, social sciences, technology or related field preferred. Substantial experience in health IT, HIM, or technical experience may be considered equivalent to a degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in health information management or healthcare technology; preferably in behavioral health.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with electronic health records (Netsmart preferred).
  • Experience supporting privacy compliance, and regulatory reviews in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.

Shift/Hours: This is a Monday-Friday opportunity observing standard business hours
Physical Requirements: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment
