Head of Fulfillment Network & Logistics

Head of Fulfillment Network & Logistics

Naked Wines

Denver, CO • On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 24 days ago

Job description

*Hybrid role based out of our Sonoma, CA or Denver, CO office
Our purpose?
Glad you ask. In a nutshell, we're all about making the world of wine a better place. We fund and source directly from independent winemakers to bring customers better quality wine for a better price. No thirsty middlemen as far as the eye can see.
It's a different way of doing things, sure. But it works. We're currently the largest online direct-to-consumer winery in the USA, shipping over 1 million(!) packs a year to curious wine lovers. And with an ambitious road ahead, we've got no plans on plugging the cork on growth.
Our global team (we have offices in the UK and Australia, too) is entrepreneurial by nature, obsessive about customer experience and driven by performance. All things that make Naked a great place to grow both personally and professionally. And yes, we like wine. A lot.
Your Purpose
This is not a traditional warehousing role.
As Head of Fulfillment Network & Logistics, you will own the strategy, performance, and evolution of Naked Wines' global fulfillment network across the US and UK. This includes a distributed ecosystem of 3PL warehouse partners and last-mile carriers, not physical site ownership.
You'll operate at the intersection of strategy, commercial decision-making, and operational execution, ensuring our network scales efficiently while delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
This role is best suited for leaders who have managed outsourced fulfillment networks and 3PL partners at scale. Candidates whose experience is primarily in on-site warehouse operations may find this role less aligned.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
What You'll Own
1. Fulfillment Network Strategy
  • Define and evolve our multi-node fulfillment strategy across regions
  • Optimize network design, node placement, and inventory positioning
  • Balance cost, speed, and customer experience at scale
  • Lead decisions on when to expand, consolidate, or shift partners

2. 3PL & Carrier Performance (Core Accountability)
  • Own performance across a network of 3PL partners and delivery providers
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contracts, and pricing structures ($40M+ spend)
  • Establish and enforce network-wide KPIs and SLAs (OTIF, OCT, cost per order, damage rates)
  • Implement robust governance (QBRs, scorecards, escalation frameworks)

3. End-to-End Customer Experience
  • Own the operational drivers behind delivery experience and NPS
  • Identify friction points across fulfillment and last-mile delivery
  • Partner with Customer Service and Product to continuously improve outcomes

4. Data, Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Leverage data to drive network-wide optimization and decision-making
  • Champion scalable processes across a non-uniform partner network
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency gains

5. Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership
  • Partner with Wine, Commercial, Finance, and Customer teams to align supply and demand
  • Translate operational performance into business impact and strategic decisions
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for day-to-day execution (including 3PL performance management)

6. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure adherence to US and UK regulatory environments (alcohol, safety)
  • Own risk management across a distributed partner network
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • BEng/BSc in Industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related technical field.
  • Skilled with Google Workspaces and/or MS office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Understanding of organisational goals, office procedures, policies and Employee Handbook
  • Proof of eligibility to work in your country of employment (US/UK).
  • Ability to analyse situations and implement solutions independently.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and establish and maintain effective work relationships while performing duties.
  • Ability to organise work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to translate big data into tactical operational recommendations.
  • Expertise in continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record in a senior leadership role managing large scale 3PLs

What We're Looking For
Proven leadership of multi-site or global fulfillment networks
Deep experience managing 3PL partners and outsourced logistics models
Ownership of large-scale logistics spend and commercial negotiations
Strong understanding of ecommerce / D2C fulfillment complexity
Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels
Experience influencing outcomes without direct operational control
Highly data-driven, with strong business and financial acumen
Our Interview Process
We keep our process simple, transparent, and respectful of your time. Here's how it works:
Recruiter Chat (30 min)
A friendly conversation with our Talent team to learn more about you, your accounting journey, and what excites you about Naked.
Round 1 Panel Interview (45 min)
A deeper dive into your operations and leadership experience with the Operations and Logistics Director, Service and Performance Director and VP of Retention and Loyalty
Round 2 Panel Interview (45 min)
You'll meet our Chief Operations Officer, Chief Growth Officer and Global Director of Technology
Round 3- Final Assessment (30 min)
A short case study to demonstrate you using your operations and leadership skills in real time. We want to see how you approach certain scenarios-nothing tricky, just a chance to show your approach.
Benefits
    • Compensation: $160- $170,000
    • Annual Bonus
    • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance - 90% employee coverage, 60% dependent coverage. Eligible from day 1.
    • Holiday allowance - 34 days of paid time off, including 20 days of accrued paid time off (PTO) and 12 paid company holidays. Paid time off also includes your Birthday, plus one additional day for volunteer efforts.
    • Retirement plan - 4% employer match. Eligible from day 1.
    • Wine allowance - $50 a month towards your Nakedwines.com account
    • Personal Pathways - Naked will pay up to $500 annually towards training and development or mental health resources
    • Company Share Plan
