Summary

The Head of Finance serves as a key member of the Fronius USA Management Team, providing financial oversight across the organization. This position leads and develops the Finance department, ensuring strong performance, accuracy, and compliance in all financial operations. The Head of Finance collaborates closely with Fronius International on forecasting, budgeting, tax matters, and corporate reporting. Additionally, this position acts as the primary contact for managing customer accounts, vendor payments, and collections, safeguarding the financial health of the business.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the National Expert in Financial Accounting, Taxes, and Controlling, providing strategic guidance to the Fronius Management Team and closely collaborates with Group Accounting at Fronius International.
  • Prepares annual budget requirements for the Finance and Controlling function and supports longterm financial planning.
  • Calculates investment decisions and evaluates related tax implications.
  • Oversees the allocation and posting of transactions and the maintenance of general and subledgers, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, depreciation, cost accounting, property and operating expenses, insurance records, and payroll ledgers.
  • Ensures the accuracy, reconciliation, and integrity of all financial accounts and book entries.
  • Manages monthend close, liquidity planning, yearend audit coordination, and monthly/annual P&L and balance sheet analysis.
  • Ensures monthly and annual financial statements comply with legal requirements and accounting best practices.
  • Oversees compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, including federal and state income tax calculations, deadlines, payment obligations, and reporting requirements, in addition to sales and use tax filings, state registrations, and tax requirements related to domestic and international shipments to and from the EU, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Prepares required financial reports and provides timely information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for customer account monitoring, vendor payments, collections, and maintains strong working knowledge of credit insurance processes.
  • Takes core responsibility and actively participate in cross-functional finance-related projects, such as ERP system upgrades/implementations or future organizational changes.
  • Supervises, mentors, and develops Finance team members, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
  • Organizes the Finance Department to promote optimal teamwork, efficiency, and achievement of organizational goals.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with insurance providers and brokers, playing a key role in the annual renewal process.
  • Instills the Fronius Way philosophy into daily operations and team interactions.
  • All other related duties as assigned by management.

Leadership Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintains discipline of all direct reports and communicates escalated matters to national management as needed.
  • Acts as a continuous role model for all Fronius USA, LLC employees with respect to work ethics, team support, distinctive communication skills, and workplace standards.
  • Prepares budgets and cost monitoring of assigned cost centers.
  • Determines the necessary staffing needs of the cost center, including requesting additional personnel, conducting interviews, negotiating offers, and supporting onboarding.
  • Monitors employee attendance, initiates salary adjustments, conducts annual appraisals, and participates in corrective action plans to improve employee performance when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting from a regionally accredited university required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or master's in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in accounting and finance, ideally within a multinational organization.
  • Advanced working knowledge of finance, budgeting, and costcontrol principles, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations, with experience navigating tax and business compliance requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and conducting profitability analysis
  • Working experience with ERP systems; BaaN/Infor ERP preferred
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in analyzing financial/controlling data, generating reports, and upholding reporting standards
  • Possess a valid Passport, or has the ability to obtain and pay for a valid Passport
  • Limited Travel
