Job description

Head Data Architect

As Head Data Architect, your primary responsibilities will be to develop, optimize, and oversee our company's conceptual and logical data systems. You proactively engage stakeholders to understand internal and external needs, fulfilling requirements with a focus on improving data quality, accessibility and security. This may include demos, solution designs, implementation plans and proof of concepts.

What you'll be doing:

  • Create domain and database design, and architecture reports for management and executive teams
  • Develop solutions to improve new and existing database systems
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data
  • Ensure system performance via proactive design, monitoring, troubleshooting and development of new features
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge of market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the technical community

Skills we're seeking:

  • 10+ years of success in data architecture, data warehousing and data governance
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud-based data architecture
  • Experience with responsive data structures, ontologies, metadata capture strategy
  • Must have at least some Azure-based data architecture experience
  • Experience with Python and/or Spark, PySpark and Scala
  • Must have experience with cloud data warehouses, ideally Snowflake
  • MDM experience
  • TOGAF or relevant enterprise architecture framework experience

Nice to have experience:

  • DevOps experience ideally using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins and Airflow
  • Experience with modern analytics and metadata management tools (e.g. DBT, Looker)
