DEPARTMENT: Hardware
REPORTS TO: Hardware Manager
OBJECTIVE: Your responsibility is to assist in the total operation of the Hardware Department. This responsibility includes the following of all company policies and operating procedures that apply.
BASIC SCOPE: The Hardware Department is a core extension of our total merchandising package, which offers our customers a convenient, friendly, local option for Hardware goods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Duties:
1. Develop maximum customer relations through a friendly and courteous behavior.
2. Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
3. Maintain good working relationships with other employees to improved sales storewide.
4. Always remember that our success will be dependent upon our ability to work together.
7. Help stock shelves and hang product tags.
8. Attain and maintain highest level of product knowledge possible.
9. Receive product from suppliers and verify invoice accurately.
10. Must be familiar with store layout, location of safety and emergency equipment.
11. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Hardware or Store managers.
13. Must be familiar with all company safety and accident prevention policies.
14. Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in the Company Handbook.
Housekeeping/Maintenance:
1. Sweep floors regularly
2. Stock shelves with product
3. Spend time to become and remain familiar with running a register
