Job description
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.
Senior Technical Program Manager, Digital Workplace
In this role you will be responsible for bringing structure, governance, and maturity to the Hardware Asset Management (HAM) practice within the Digital Workplace organization. You will partner with stakeholders across Digital Workplace, Procurement, and Finance to assess the current state, define the program scope and milestones, and own the end-to-end delivery of a scalable, ITIL-aligned HAM program. As the HAM practice matures, your scope will expand to include continuous improvement initiatives across Digital Workplace, which encompasses our Global Service Desk and Field Support teams.
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will drive the overall program scope and strategy as well as collaborate with teams inside and outside your organization to deliver against that plan. You can define the program (mission, vision, tenets), set goals, analyze data, drive improvements that are quantified with metrics, and influence resource allocation. You understand the systems in your program space, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind process and architectural choices.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the operational backbone that enables Blue Origin's mission-critical teams. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Special Mentions
- Travel: Minimal travel expected; estimated at less than 10% annually.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drive the end-to-end assessment, redesign, and implementation of Blue Origin's Hardware Asset Management program, including lifecycle management, inventory control, procurement coordination, distribution, and disposition in collaboration with the DWS Director and all key stakeholders.
- Define and document HAM policies, procedures, and governance frameworks aligned with ITIL V3 or V4 best practices and enterprise standards.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive hardware asset inventory, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance across all end-point asset classes.
- Create and track program milestones, risks, and dependencies; own and prioritize all requirements associated with delivery of the HAM program.
- Define and drive the metrics strategy for the HAM program, including the creation of new metrics, ongoing tracking, trend analysis, and executive-level reporting.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards that provide a single pane of glass view into hardware asset inventory, lifecycle status, and overall HAM program health.
- Partner with Procurement and Finance teams to align hardware purchasing processes, budget forecasting, and vendor management with lifecycle planning.
- Develop structured improvement roadmaps that address gaps, risks, and opportunities identified within current Digital Workplace practices.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and stakeholder communication across Digital Workplace, Global Service Desk, Field Support, Procurement, Finance, and broader Enterprise Technology teams.
- Build and maintain program documentation, including charters, RACI matrices, process maps, and status reports.
- Demonstrate good judgment in how and when to escalate critical program decisions.
- Write effective narratives on program decisions, trade-offs, and program updates and present them to stakeholders and the management team.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience or certification.
- 5+ years of experience in a Technical Program Manager, IT Program Manager, or equivalent role with demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional programs.

- Working knowledge of ITIL V3 or V4 frameworks with demonstrated application in a Digital Workplace or IT Operations environment.
- Demonstrated experience creating and tracking program metrics, including the development of dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable visibility into program performance.
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and driving delivery against defined milestones.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Finance and Procurement stakeholders on asset-related budgeting and purchasing workflows.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

- ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation certification or higher.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project/program management certification.
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, and quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
- Experience defining KPIs and SLAs used to drive operational programs and reporting results to senior leadership.
- Proven track record of delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Experience supporting Global Service Desk or Field Support operations Program needs within an enterprise IT environment.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks for data visualization and dashboard development in support of operational and executive reporting.
