Job description

At Meta’s Reality Labs, we are developing the future of robotics. Meta is seeking an experienced Hardware Operations Program Manager to join our Robotics Operations Team. In this role, you will be a critical member of the program team, partnering closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering organization to ensure the operational and execution needs of hardware programs are met end-to-end.You will work cross-functionally across Reality Labs including hardware, software, legal, finance, operations, procurement, and facilities to build relationships, serve as a dependable point of contact, and ensure program needs are met. To be successful, you will remove barriers to execution, clearly communicate progress and risks to stakeholders, and maintain the big-picture program view while diving into details to unblock specific issues.
Hardware Operations Program Manager- Robotics Responsibilities:
  • Drive end-to-end execution for early-stage robotics hardware programs, ensuring program plans, dependencies, and deliverables are defined, tracked, and met
  • Manage prototype sourcing and logistics for early-stage program needs, including Hardware Purchase Orders (POs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), vendor quotes, and invoice approvals
  • Lead cross-functional evaluation of major hardware CapEx and OpEx decisions, including business cases on manufacturing scope and insource vs. outsource tradeoffs
  • Facilitate logistics and tracking for prototype part movement across internal, supplier, and external sites, including shipment coordination and delivery verification
  • Manage distribution of prototype hardware by tracking prototype and parts inventory, coordinating demo experiences, and maintaining prototype documentation and readiness status
  • Own hardware budget tracking and reporting
  • create reliable quarterly estimates and actuals in partnership with finance and program stakeholders
  • Coordinate across finance, facilities, procurement, and legal to enable contracts, purchasing, site needs, and vendor engagements required for program execution
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies, risks, and bottlenecks
  • develop mitigation plans, drive alignment on decisions, and ensure timely follow-through
  • Communicate program status, risks, decisions, and escalation paths to stakeholders with appropriate rigor and cadence

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, project management, and/or operations management
  • Experience understanding and communicating technical information to non-experts and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience operating independently, be detail-oriented, and deliver results in a highly organized manner
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within broad cross-functional teams
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and managing complex dependencies
  • Experience resolving conflicts and driving decisions across stakeholders with differing priorities
  • Experience navigating ambiguous problem spaces and evolving responsibilities in fast-moving environments

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • MBA degree
  • PMP (or equivalent) experience supporting teams developing hardware and software solutions
  • Experience managing projects with distributed and/or global teams
