In this highly visible role, you will lead the Operations technical team during the next generation product’s development and high volume production. As the technical lead for a product line, you will partner closely with multiple multi-functional teams during all phases of development to enable the product success!
Description
To be a successful team member within Product Operations you will lead cross-functional Operations technical teams (DFx, DFm, Test, SQE, PQE and others) during product development and high volume production. As the senior technical advisor for the product line, you will partner closely with the Engineering throughout the lifecycle of development to enable operational success through to mass production.
***System Product Quality Management: FATP for iPhone, Mac, Audio & Home or VisionPro
• Ensure operational technical readiness for all phases of the introduction cycle, including driving contract manufacturer preparation for pre-production builds
• Own and drive key operational metrics including yield and UPH to ensure complete ramp readiness
• Drive process development, documentation, optimization and validation, including all equipment requirement plans
• Develop and implement new technologies to enhance production quality, capacity and efficiency
• Provide regular VP level communication of technical health of program
• Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP)
• Monitor Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) and Customer Audit (CA) processes at OEM sites
• Handle and triage quality critical issues
• Drive ongoing product improvements with OEM partners
• Support AppleCare Service & Engineering on specific requests
• Conduct periodic reviews of Field/Factory Quality Data with OEM partners
• Leads Weekly Quality Improvement Forums
• Generate monthly Product Health summary
• International Travel is required (up to 25%)

These teams support various components and modules such as Connectors, Haptics, Inductive, Camera, Depth, Optical Sensing, Displays. Some responsibilities include:
• Identify and drive quality improvement opportunities in future products
• Lead Process FMEAs on new technologies and manufacturing processes
• Lead technical Failure Analysis to support root cause analysis and issue resolution
• Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP)
• Establish quality monitoring mechanism which generate meaningful metrics providing indication of outgoing quality at all nodes in supply chain
• Develop/Drive test correlation, metrology systems, sampling methods, cosmetics requirements, and more
• Manage quality escalation and issues
• Develop capable supplier that can be both technology and scaling partners
• International Travel is required (up to 25%)
Preferred Qualifications
MS/PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
**Product Quality Management:
Experience partnering with off-shore manufacturers, high volume production and traveling to manufacturing sites
Strong statistical and data analytics skills - statistical process control and sampling methods
Data driven and results oriented approach to problem solving, failure analysis techniques
Direct experience program managing functional engineering teams (ME, EE, TE, DFX or other)
Exceptional ability to build relationships; clear, consistent communication; data-driven and results- oriented; enthusiastic and motivated

Clear and consistent communication, including executive level presentation skills and ability to drive multi-functional teams
Knowledge of Quality Systems, Design of Experiments, Reliability Methods/Models
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of Quality experience in one or more of the following disciplines: New Product Introduction / Design Engineering / Manufacturing Operations
BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,400 and $236,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
