Job Title: Robot Installation Engineer
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION:
Support all phases of installation and service of robots and robotic systems by providing technical
assistance. Tasks include robot setup, troubleshooting, repairs, retrofits of internal and peripheral
equipment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with on-site technical tasks and manage FANUC products through build, buyoff,
integration, customer acceptance, plant installation and plant production support.
Provide timely updates to management, which includes technical reports of repairs and
troubleshooting during the different phases of the project.
Provide prompt, professional and courteous solutions to customer technical issues.
Assist on issues, troubleshooting and resolution.
Assist in management of spare parts at customer sites.
Create technical reports and provide customers with clear communication of issues and solutions.
Provide cross functional support to various FANUC departments
Perform intricate repairs on robot mechanical units and controllers
Assist with retrofit activities for robot peripheral and internal hardware such as dressouts, uports,
wire harnesses, RTUs, etc.
Plan and assist with software upgrades and hardware configuration activities
Create plans and assist in any robot process improvement activities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Ability to analyze and solve FANUC products and all body shop technology (vision and specific
application equipment)
Must be experienced and skilled in the following areas: FANUC technology (hardware and
software products), industrial electrical, electronic, and computer hardware, high level
programming languages, PLCs and body shop application/process equipment.
Knowledge of body shop applications and processes including hardware, software and
communications protocol.
2. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in engineering or equivalent technical education
preferred with minimum of 3 years of relevant FANUC robot and body shop experience.
3. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
Must be able to travel throughout USA, Canada and Mexico for extended periods
Must be able to perform intricate repairs or mechanical and electrical items.
Ability to endure physical work using various hand tools
Ability to work for hours standing and walking in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as needed
Must be able to lift 40 lbs and work on ladders
