Job Summary
To assist in the provision of safety and protection for students by monitoring and communicating campus activity to the administration and/or School Resource Officer(s).
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor hallways and surrounding school premises to promote overall school safety.
  • Observe and report student behavior and conduct in relation to the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Check for student hall passes and tardy slips.
  • Assist in ensuring that students and visitors follow school procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication via two-way radio system in an emergency.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with classroom coverage when necessary and maintain consistent rules and expectations.
  • Effectively communicate with students, parents, and District staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Assist with traffic safety, including student arrival and departure.
  • Represent the District in a professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum 60 college hours; must maintain a substitute certificate.
Experience: Must be 21 years old; experience working with children preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of human behavior and child/adolescent development.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students and follow written and verbal instructions.

Work Environment
  • Works in varying environments, with frequent demands to address conditions, problems, and conflicts that involve people with diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Occasionally works in adverse weather conditions.

Physical Demands
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and fine finger dexterity required.
