Job Summary/Basic Function
The Residential Life team includes graduate-level students serving in an array of different positions. The Desk Operations Assistant Hall Director (AHD) assists the Director of Residential Education in the day-to-day operations of the front desks in the residence halls and apartments across campus as well as serve as the primary supervisor of desk manager staff.

Students obtaining degrees in Student Affairs and Higher Education are preferred, although not mandatory.

Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise four desk managers in overseeing assigned building front desks.
  • Complete regular audits in housing occupancy system (StarRez) for keys, temporary cards, mail/package reports, etc.
  • Lead bi-weekly desk manager meetings.
  • Assist with time keeping for desk managers and desk attendants.
  • Facilitate accountability conversations with desk attendants.
  • Coordinate billing of fees related to desk operations.
  • Train Residential Life staff on desk operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve on the departmental Desk Operations committee
  • Serve in an on-call duty rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
