Job description

HVAC/R Mechanic
Maintenance
The HVAC/R Mechanic will:
  • Perform corrective maintenance in accordance with the work order system.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with the work order system.
  • Respond to emergency calls.
  • Display appropriate knowledge of the HVAC/R trade.
  • Perform work assignments in a safe manner.
  • Perform other miscellaneous tasks.
  • HVAC/R MECHANIC I: Act as back-up Section Leader when required by the Engineering Manager.

Requirements:
  • Ability to read, comprehend and transmit complicated and detailed instructions.
  • A comprehensive understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and operations normally acquired through an HVAC/R apprentice program or similar on-the-job training and six (6) years related HVAC/R experience.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, to concentrate and pay attention to details.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and in a courteous manner with Hospital personnel.
  • Work requires prolonged standing, and the ability to walk, climb ladders, lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work requires exposure to unpleasant odors.
  • Must be familiar with and exercise precautions for working near live electrical equipment and wiring, and hazards from mechanical equipment which is in operating condition.
  • Valid and in good standing driver's license issued by the state of New Jersey preferred due to the possibility of driving a facility vehicle to our various locations.

Salary Range: 25.97 - 41.56 USD

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
