Experience and abilities you will need:
  • Engineering bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of 1 year's manufacturing experience required.
  • ISO experience
  • Cement plant experience preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English, preferred.
  • Trainer/teaching experience.
  • Quality Assurance/Control experience.
  • Will need to have Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project skills.
  • Able and willing to travel-National and International.
  • Six Sigma experience
  • Consultancy experience
  • Employees are frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Employees must be physically fit and capable of climbing and walking and must be able to work in high places.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

What you will do:
The purpose of this position is to promote and support the growth of Operation Teams in both their technical expertise and involvement in High Performance (HP) systems. Specifically, support with HP Implementation to all Business Units in GCC in HP systems (CI, JOBS, 5S, IMS-ISO) Cultivates a positive safety culture in the district. Develops and nurtures empowerment in all phases of the operation.
  • Act as a Steward of GCC HP practices and strive for its improvement.
  • Oversee the implementation of plant's efficiency improvement projects, assigned and/or determined to or by operations teams, and provide timely warnings of deviations to both Teams, HP manager and Plant leadership teams along with suggestions to be back on track.
  • Assess progress of teams and score their performance in HP system.
  • Support teams in use of HP process and tools such as project management, and problem solving among others.
  • Facilitate teams learning statistical tools.
  • Use evaluation tool to provide feedback to teams on their progress in HP implementation and provide support and guidance in their planning to improve score.
  • Promote a systems mindset and support and guide ISO implementation.
  • Act as auditor in ISO internal audits and support coordination of internal and external audits
  • Function as assessor and coordinator in assessments for selection of team members
  • Facilitate, as needed, cross functional teams' projects and meetings.
  • Support use of HP application/software and identify opportunities for its improvement.
  • Address opportunities in HP application and request updates of database of teams
  • Support/contribute to systems design and deployment both in ISO and GCCA Performance System (GCCA Model-Baldrige)
  • Support, coordinate, manage guidelines and provide advice for teams and individuals technical and operations learning and conduct audits of JOBS system.
  • Conduct 5S audits and report findings
  • Train internal resources for 5S auditing
  • Support hazard identification and Risk Assessment following GCC methodology.
  • Support regulatory analysis and compliance assessment.
  • This position has the responsibility to monitor state-of-the-art technology and industry best practices regarding cement manufacturing, safety, and High Performance.
  • Conduct investigations to either identify opportunities for improvement or solve technical problems in the manufacturing process and propose solutions.
  • Maintain, enforce, and demonstrate safety as a value in all activities, adhere to safety policies and practices, aiming to reduce risk for GCC through observations and contributions and use of the pertinent methodology.
  • When assigned with projects, accountable for supervision of contractors, their safety and inventory of materials property of GCC involved in such project.
  • Conduct onboarding for new hires to learn HP, ISO concepts.
  • Conduct and compile surveys to identify critical knowledge.
  • Coordinate at local level best practices committee
  • Act as facilitator in use of Root Cause Analysis tools
