A privately held consumer products manufacturer/distributor is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its accounting and finance function. The CFO will oversee financial reporting, close, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, banking relationships, audit support, and financial planning.The ideal CFO will come from a product-based business such as manufacturing, consumer products, distribution, CPG, or a similar inventory-driven environment.This is a practical CFO role for someone who can operate strategically while staying close to the details, improve reporting discipline, and bring structure to a lean finance team.Experience with inventory, costing, gross margins, working capital, lender reporting, and cash forecasting will be important.The CFO will work closely with the CEO and ownership group and serve as a key financial advisor to the business.
• Proven executive finance leadership experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance leader in a manufacturing, consumer products, or inventory-driven business; CPA preferred
• Strong background in financial statement preparation, monthly close management, budgeting, and rolling forecasts.
• Demonstrated knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and margin analysis in a product-based environment.
• Experience working with banks and asset-based or factoring lenders, including frequent borrowing base or forecast reporting.
• Track record of leading audit preparation, resolving accounting gaps, and partnering effectively with outside accounting firms.
• Ability to operate hands-on in a lean finance organization while also providing strategic guidance to ownership and senior leadership.
• Prior involvement in mergers and acquisitions, including financial due diligence and post-acquisition finance coordination.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel-based financial reporting in environments that require process improvement and structure.
