Utility/Groundskeeping - Decatur, IL
Full-time Employment
Position Summary
The Utility position is a full-time position that supports the upkeep and appearance of all assigned corporate properties by performing routine landscaping, maintenance, and grounds care. This role ensures outdoor areas remain clean, safe, and visually appealing while assisting with installations, repairs, and seasonal tasks. In addition, assist with furniture deliveries, assembly and colleague moves.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping
  • Maintain cleanliness of entryways, walkways, and exterior areas
  • Sweep and maintain perimeters, including dumpster and loading dock areas
  • Empty exterior trash receptacles
  • Perform mowing, trimming, and weed control
  • Assist with landscape installations, hedge trimming, and pruning
  • Spread mulch and maintain plant beds
  • Cut and remove trees as needed
  • Primarily Monday-Friday, 5a-1:30p
  • Overtime is occasionally required

Equipment Operation & Maintenance
  • Operate light duty truck with valid driver's license; haul trailer/equipment as needed
  • Operate landscaping equipment, including wide-area mowers and log chippers
  • Maintain and repair lawn equipment, snow removal equipment, and tools

General Maintenance
  • Perform minor repairs, including fences and outdoor structures
  • Assist with basic plumbing and light carpentry tasks
Seasonal & Additional Duties
  • Perform snow removal and ice control
  • Support truck deliveries and material transport
  • Support special events (e.g., delivery, set-up/tear down, etc.)
  • Help with furniture moves as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license or ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to pass a company background check
  • Basic computer skills (word processing, email, work order systems)
  • U.S. citizenship (if required by company policy)
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Small engine repair and maintenance
  • Basic plumbing knowledge; light carpentry skills
  • Familiarity with tools and proper usage
  • Safety procedures and best practices
  • Forklift and lift operation (or willingness to be trained)
  • Participate/pass annual training
Physical Requirements
