Job description

Groundfloor is looking for a sharp, entrepreneurial finance generalist to work closely with our senior leadership team, reporting to the Director of Corporate Development and Strategy.

This is a role for a builder — someone who loves tackling problems from first principles and is just as energized by creating something from nothing as by scaling what already exists. You'll operate with the autonomy and ownership of an early-stage team member within a growth-stage startup, developing a deep understanding of our business and serving as a force multiplier across our highest-priority initiatives in capital markets, product development, and corporate finance.
In 2015, Groundfloor launched the first real estate investment platform open to everyone. Over the past decade, we've built a vertically integrated real estate lending organization with a $1.5B+ track record and a community of more than 50,000 investors.

We originate, underwrite, and service the real estate loans available on our platform — all under one roof. Today, Groundfloor is at a genuine inflection point: $250M+ in loans securitized over the last two years, 30%+ year-over-year revenue growth, and a clear path to profitability. We're building a small, high-caliber team to take on the company's most complex and consequential challenges alongside senior leadership.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN:

This role operates on a project basis across three verticals: our investment platform, real estate lending business, and corporate function.

Capital Markets (Lending Business)
  • Own historical performance reporting for institutional partners, maintaining data integrity and building a library of analysis frameworks used in diligence engagements.
  • Lead first-touch analysis on complex diligence requests from institutional financing, securitization, and investment partners.
  • Build transaction execution and portfolio reporting processes from the ground up for new capital markets relationships, in close partnership with Lending Business leadership.
Corporate Finance
  • Bridge gaps between the Corporate Finance team and Groundfloor's business units, ensuring financial analysis and strategic thinking cut across operational silos.
  • Serve as an internal lead on the digital transformation of our lending data and FP&A tech stack, drawing on your deep familiarity with historical loan data.
Product Development & Portfolio (Investment Platform)
  • Own counterparty and asset diligence for new investment product partnerships and originations.
  • Partner with Platform Business leadership to build go-to-market and asset management operations for new investment products from inception.
  • Develop portfolio analysis frameworks to monitor ongoing performance of real estate loans sold on our platform.

YOUR EXPERIENCE + A FEW NICE TO HAVES:

Required Experience

  • 3–5+ years in finance or fintech — banking, consulting, or lending — with a strong foundation in at least one of the following:
    • Startup experience: You've worked in a high-growth or early-stage environment and know what it takes to move fast and figure things out.
    • "0 to 1" experience: You have a track record of building and scaling new systems and processes with a founder's mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strategic orientation — you can synthesize cross-functional inputs and translate them into a coherent direction.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in private credit or real estate lending.
  • Experience with capital markets transactions, including secured credit facilities or asset securitizations.
  • Technical fluency and comfort picking up new software systems quickly.
