Role Purpose

The Vice President of Technical Services is a senior leadership role with overall responsibility for our GSE operations and business. The role serves to provide the strategic oversight, standardization, and continuous improvement of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance operations across our Americas business. This role leads GSE maintenance teams, processes, and compliance while also owning GSE capital planning and purchasing strategies.

With a strong engineering background, the Vice President of Technical Services will play a key role in leading our third-party GSE maintenance services, enabling commercial growth and ensuring.

Our GSE business comprises of 60 workshops across 11 countries, employing 600 people and managing 10,000+ assets.

Key Responsibilities

GSE Maintenance Leadership

  •  Provide leadership and oversight of all GSE maintenance operations, ensuring safety, reliability, compliance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Establish and standardize maintenance programs, policies, procedures, and KPIs across all locations.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor GSE maintenance leadership and technical teams, fostering a strong safety and performance culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.

Engineering & Technical Strategy

  • Apply engineering expertise to drive equipment reliability, lifecycle optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with operations, safety, and procurement teams to support equipment standardization and technical best practices.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for major equipment or operational issues.

 GSE Purchasing & Asset Management

  •  Own the GSE purchasing strategy, including capital planning, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Develop long-term asset management and replacement strategies aligned with operational and financial objectives.
  • Optimize total cost of ownership through data-driven purchasing and maintenance decisions.

Business performance and commercial growth

  •  Lead the development and expansion of third-party GSE maintenance services as a growth and revenue opportunity.
  • Overall P&L and budget responsibility for GSE business across the region
  • Ensure technical capability, staffing models, and processes are in place to support external customers.
  • Collaborate with commercial and operational leaders to scale third-party maintenance offerings while maintaining service quality and compliance.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a key partner to senior leadership on technical services strategy, growth initiatives, and integration efforts.
  • Support new station startups, acquisitions, and integrations from a GSE and technical services perspective.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting for Technical Services.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field (required); advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in GSE maintenance, technical services, or similar heavy equipment environments.
  • Proven executive or senior leadership experience managing large, multi-site technical or maintenance organizations.
  • Strong working knowledge of GSE maintenance, asset management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in capital planning, purchasing, and vendor management.
  • Experience supporting or growing third-party maintenance or service-based operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational excellence and growth objectives
