Description:

Job Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of grinding equipment used to process recyclable materials. This role supports daily production activities by operating machinery, handling materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with company safety and operational standards.

Reports to: Plant Supervisor

Classification: Non-Exempt

Pay : $16.25 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule/Hours:

This is an In-Person Full Time Position consisting of 5 8-hour day shifts with periodic weekend work. The position is expected to work weekly from Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to achieve a total of 40 work hours.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Job Responsibilities

ยท Operate grinding and/or baling equipment and other related production equipment safely and efficiently.

ยท Move, load, and stage materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment.

ยท Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, and routine maintenance activities.

ยท Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.

ยท Perform other production duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • > 1 years of manufacturing, recycling, or grinding operation experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods; use hands and arms to operate machinery and equipment; bend, kneel, crouch, and lift materials throughout the shift; and communicate effectively with fellow employees and supervisors.

The employee must be able to:

  • Lift up to 40 pounds
  • Work in varying temperatures, humidity, moisture, dust, and dirty environments
  • Safely operate forklifts and industrial equipment
  • Maintain close and distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision necessary for operating machinery and completing documentation

Work Environment: This position works in a manufacturing and recycling facility environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, industrial noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
