Position Summary

Overton Industries is seeking a skilled Precision Grinder to perform close‑tolerance grinding operations, interpret engineering blueprints, and ensure high‑quality production of precision components. This role supports our commitment to craftsmanship and reliability through accurate machining, proper equipment setup, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply information from engineering blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Set up grinding equipment, including mounting and dressing grinding wheels to specified tolerances using approved dressing devices.

  • Establish and adjust grinding speeds, feeds, and operational parameters to meet part specifications.

  • Inspect and verify workpiece dimensions throughout the grinding cycle using precision measuring instruments.

  • Replace worn or damaged grinding wheels and ensure proper machine functionality.

  • Perform close‑tolerance grinding on components of various sizes and materials.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all quality and safety procedures.
