Job description

Schedule: 2nd and 3rd Shift
Employment: Full-Time | Direct Hire


We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Operator II with strong setup, machining, programming, and troubleshooting skills. This position is designed for an experienced machinist who can work independently, hold tight tolerances, solve machining problems, and help train less-experienced operators.


What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate CNC mills with minimal supervision.
  • Machine steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Work to tight tolerances, including .0002".
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and dimensional specifications.
  • Perform complete machine setups, including proper tooling, workholding, and fixtures.
  • Preset tools and make necessary tooling adjustments.
  • Read and edit CNC programs for troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Run programs in single block when required.
  • Determine appropriate feeds and speeds based on tooling and material.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and quality issues independently.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and tool sharpening.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with training and developing other CNC operators.

  • 3+ years of proven CNC mill experience.
  • Strong CNC setup capabilities.
  • CNC programming and advanced program-editing experience.
  • Ability to read CNC programs and run single block.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Proficient with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Fixturing and layout knowledge.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt when problems arise.
  • Ability to train less-experienced operators.
  • Must own basic hand tools.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
