About the Position

This position is responsible for preparing and cooking food. The Line Cook will follow recipes consistently, make adjustments based on customer requests, communicate with servers and prepare garnishes to make an attractive presentation for each meal. All Line Cooks will strive to exceed the expectations of our customers each and every time.

Considered one of the premier Country Clubs in Florida, Grey Oaks opened in 1993 and encompasses the Grey Oaks and Estuary communities, along with 54 holes of championship golf. About You

Primary Responsibilities

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Ensure ingredients and final product are fresh.
  • Prepare food for service.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.
  • Answer, report and follow Executive or Sous Chef's instructions.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by Chef.
  • Learns and follows the restaurant's service standards to ensure guests and customers receive a high level of service and have an enjoyable experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • A minimum one-year cooking experience as a line cook and or prep cook.
  • Superior dexterity skills to operate cutting tools quickly and safely.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to interact with customers, coworkers, and management in positive, supportive, cooperative ways.
  • Knowledge and ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment, perform duties under pressure, and in a timely manner.
  • Familiar with industry's best practices.
  • Culinary school diploma desirable.
