We are looking for a creative Digital Designer to elevate the SmartThings brand and design impactful visual experiences. This role is built for a designer who thrives on high-level graphic design and has a deep interest in how brand aesthetics drive metric engagement. This person in this role will focus on creating beautiful, high-performance content for marketing, social, and digital platforms, ensuring our brand feels premium and cohesive across all touchpoints.
This position is a hybrid role, based onsite 3 days a week at our office in Minneapolis, MN.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include the following: 
  • Own the visual execution for paid ads, social media, blogs, and newsletters, translating our brand strategy into compelling assets that drive engagement and evangelize SmartThings. 
  • Bring the brand to life by creating compelling UI animations and video content that simplify complex features into engaging visual stories.
  • Partner closely with the Marketing and Growth teams to design high-converting landing pages and digital campaign materials that align with brand standards.
  • Drive impactful visual storytelling by translating strategic goals into designs that maintain brand consistency across US, SEA, and HQ market contexts. 
  • Provide creative direction support by assisting in defining the brand's visual language and delivering high-fidelity UI polish to support the UX Designer during major launches.
  • Manage the end-to-end creative process for digital assets, from conceptualizing social graphics to the final delivery of motion-heavy marketing content, landing pages.

What You Bring On Day One (Required Qualifications) 
  • 5+ years of professional experience in digital design, graphic design, or motion graphics, preferably within a tech, agency, or fast-paced brand environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand design, motion graphics, and high-converting marketing assets.
  • Mastery of Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, color theory, and animation principles, with an ability to design for diverse global markets (US, SEA, HQ).
  • Proven track record of partnering successfully with marketing and growth teams to translate performance metrics into creative solutions.

Desired Skills
  • Experience designing for smart home automation, IoT, or consumer technology sectors.
  • Basic understanding of UX design principles and how to collaborate with UX/UI designers to elevate high-fidelity interfaces.
  • Experience optimizing asset production workflows and utilizing AI design tools or templates to scale production without sacrificing quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Fine Arts, or a related visual communications field 
We are offering a 6-month contract, 40 hours each week, $55/hr.
