Job description

As a Retail Graphic Designer with Opry Entertainment Group (OEG), you'll serve as a key creative player on the retail team, designing unique and custom graphics for products that connect artists and fans in our iconic venues. You'll create original artwork and graphics for apparel, hardgoods, packaging, retail displays, e-commerce visuals, and other marketing materials. You'll work closely with the product development team to ensure cohesive design across categories, efficiently incorporating current trend within the brand aesthetic. As the ideal candidate, you bring strong graphic design skills across printables and pattern design with an eye for retail trends and merchandising. Reports to Senior Product Designer.
  • Create original designs, including logos and compositional graphics for apparel and other products. Produce 10--20 new styles per month in alignment with the creative direction of the product design team.
  • Follow existing style guides to create new designs and accompanying style guides for packaging.
  • Research current trends consistent with existing brand aesthetic to be incorporated into original artwork for the fan experience.
  • Stay current with graphic design trends, tools, and product applications, while maintaining existing brand aesthetic.
  • Collaborate with retail, marketing, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality end products.
  • Communicate with product development team and vendors to ensure proper execution of prints and applications.
  • Design and prepare supplemental artwork for websites, banners, social media, in-store collateral, and product packaging.
  • Create CADs and tech packs to communicate graphic placement on garments. Adapt and supply CADs for our e-commerce team as needed. Adjust vendor art and logos as required for various souvenir products.
  • Create production-ready artwork for film output related to textile screen printing and other decorations methods.
  • Proofread, compare, and verify the accuracy of all details, such as font type, graphic size, color, copy, and logo specifications for all jobs assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred

Experience
  • 4+ years' graphic design experience required, preferably in fashion or lifestyle apparel
  • 2+ years' designing apparel and soft goods, with practical knowledge of screen-printing and other decoration techniques
  • Experience in retail product design and manufacturing required
  • PDF and/or online portfolio is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of country music and entertainment lifestyle and the OEG brand aesthetic is a plus
  • Proven success working with cross-functional teams and adapting projects to evolving expectations
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent workstreams while meeting critical deadlines
  • Working knowledge of printing best practices across various product mediums, including awareness of related production and print limitations
  • Proficient with Adobe products (Photoshop and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support business needs

Physical Requirements
Speak and hear to communicate and use both near and far vision. Frequently sit with some walking and standing for office/property navigation. Occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Continually use gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills for computer use.
Working Conditions
In-office position based in a corporate environment with individual workspaces and shared common areas which support focused work while encouraging regular interaction among colleagues. Moderate background noise typical of a collaborative office setting.
