Job description

Position Overview

The Graphic Designer produces creative content and layouts supporting all aspects of Quaker's Residential and Luxury Marketing Team. The position will oversee daily design projects, creating visuals that align with brand standards and marketing goals. The position is responsible for Point-of-Scale Graphics including but not limited to brochures, print advertisements, in-store merchandising and technical detail manuals. The Graphic Designer will also ensure consistency of the Quaker brand across all platforms and aid in the creation of in-store selling platforms and pathways.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design. Execute creative graphic design projects and key deliverables that are effective, engaging, and produced with high-quality and detail
  • Develop. Develop creative briefs and narratives in support of linked brands and products
  • Create. Responsible for design and creation of print-ready files supporting print and technical applications. This includes literature, media kits, tradeshows, samples and point of sale.
  • Collaborate. Work with multiple business teams to develop calendars and briefs in support of new and existing product lines and services specifying storyboards, narratives and concepts.
  • Branding. Work to develop and support brand guidelines and product roadmaps. We want brand identity, awareness, consistency and usage.
  • Brand Management. Assist in quality control of all creative department projects, including print and digital.
  • In-Store Merchandising. Support the design and development of retail and showroom selling environments. Need to understand the pathway to sales, territorial design, dimensionality and visualization.
  • Quaker Window Product Ambassador. Directly and indirectly communicate with all customer facing groups
  • Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
  • Interact with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
  • Confer virtually or on site with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.
  • Communicate via email, prepare reports and work schedules.
  • Review and analyze data and marketing information.
  • Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct management or supervisory responsibilities.

Safety

Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to eye and foot protection; follow aisle safety, and report potentially unsafe conditions during trips to the production floor.

Travel

Approximately 10% travel is required for conferences or to visit Quaker campuses for meetings, shoots or other marketing needs.

Qualifications

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Comprehensive understanding of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
  • Firm Knowledge of Composition, Layout, Color Theory and Typography.
  • Dimensional and Spatial knowledge a plus through Sketch-up Pro, Auto-Cad or SolidWorks.

Preferred Education and Experience

An individual is expected to have the minimum level of education and/or related expertise listed here:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, News Media and/or Public Relations.
  • Proven work experience in graphic design, social media marketing or digital media specialist
  • Ad Agency or Architectural Design Experience preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands The demands and environmental characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is primarily an office job and largely a sedentary role with frequent sitting. The position requires the ability to climb stairs, lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may also occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment Although the employee will primarily be in an office setting, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to visit the factory and be exposed to climactic variations, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the office is usually low, but hearing protection may be advisable or required for prolonged visits to certain parts of the factory.
