Job description

Position: Marketing and Event Coordinator

Department: Marketing

Reports To: Event Manager, Creative Director

Location: 3180 Presidential Drive Atlanta, GA 30340

The Marketing and Event Coordinator helps manage and represent LifeLine at events and coordinate marketing efforts to drive adoptions, donations and awareness for LifeLine Animal Project. This position is a hybrid role (part remote/part in shelter or attending offsite events) and supports marketing efforts by creating and ordering marketing materials, assisting with collateral and swag orders, assisting at events, and helping to highlight lifesaving programs and initiatives.

Marketing:

  • Work with the marketing team to support and promote LifeLine events, programs and initiatives and to get the word out into our community.
  • Help manage the creation, print and distribution of flyers, postcards, and signage in collaboration with graphic designer.
  • Review and courageously provide feedback on creative assets including flyers, postcards, and digital graphics, with attention to design principles and brand standards
  • Design simple graphics in Canva as needed.
  • Work with offline and online print vendors to place orders.
  • Attend events as brand ambassador & promote needs of the organization.
  • Promote positive conversations, respond to messages, and escalate any concerns.
  • Assist with Google reviews and responses to marketing inboxes (news, events).
  • Project management utilizing tools like Asana.

Events:

  • Support LifeLine events by helping plan, lead, and attend events, weekends included.
  • Ensure LifeLine meets event partnership expectations.
  • Take responsibility to ensure all events are fully staffed by recruiting volunteers, fosters, adoptable pets and staff where applicable, and attend if necessary.
  • Emcee public, virtual, and internal events and be able to speak on behalf of LifeLine.
  • Work with the shelter staff to finalize adoption and foster applications.
  • Capture and share event photos.
  • Communicate upcoming events details (including descriptions, expectations, and needs) with the events team in-advance of events to receive assistance in staffing and promotions.
  • Manage event calendar postings for website & community calendars.
  • Promote positive outcomes with the general public, donors, community partners, volunteers, fosters, and staff.
  • Assist staff with recurring adoption events when necessary in an effort to help save lives.
  • Provide post event stats (e.g. adoptions, donations, merch sold, foot traffic).
  • Help manage event inventory to ensure successful event presence.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Compassion for animals and the people who love and care for them.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity.
  • Must love animals and be comfortable working with large dogs, animal handling experience preferred.
  • Foundational graphic design skills, including familiarity with Canva.
  • Excellent project management and professional written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs as needed.
  • Must have a means of travel that ensures prompt arrival for work shifts.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

Customer service experience preferred.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to unpleasant kennel smells. May have to handle dogs and cats that are stray, injured, diseased or reactive.
