Graduate Assistant,ย Physician Assistantย ย 

REPORTS TO:ย Programย Director, Physician Assistant Programย 

STATUS:ย PART-TIME,ย EXEMPTย ย 

Lake Erie College,ย locatedย in Painesville, OH, invites applications for theย position ofย Graduateย Assistant,ย Physical Assistant.ย Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Graduate Assistantย is responsible forย operational and administrative support to the PA program's core administrative team. This hybrid role splits responsibilities between fiscal/event-planning operations and clinical rotation/admissions tracking. The ideal candidate will gain multifaceted experience in higher education and healthcare program administration.ย This is aย 12-month appointment, each year, for two consecutive years,ย pending successful evaluation at the end of year one.ย 

RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 

  • Follows all terms and conditions per the Policy for Graduate Assistants.ย 

  • Verifies document completion and continuously reviews onboardingย requirementsย for application tracking.ย 

  • Responds to inquiries from prospective studentsย regardingย admissions requirements and interview timelines byย monitoringย the PA inbox andย assistingย with information night coordination.ย ย 

  • Assistsย with the coordination, setup, and execution of virtual and on-campus interview days.ย 

  • Guides matriculated students through pre-enrollment requirements, including background checks and immunization verification for student onboarding.ย 

  • Assistsย the clinical team in monitoring student placements andย maintainingย active clinical affiliation agreements for rotation tracking.ย 

  • Updates andย maintainsย student data withing clinical rotation management databases (CORE) through software management.ย ย 

  • Ensure student medical certifications (BLS, ACLS) and health recordsย remainย up to dateย through compliance monitoring.ย ย 

  • Assistsย in event planningย throughย executing milestones like the White Coat Ceremony, ordering white coats, certificates and framing for Manor House, orientation weeks, graduation celebrations, clinical outreach and preceptor events, and the Lakeland IPE event.ย 

  • Supports Student Society events and outreach (ieย fundraising, beachย party, banners, etc.)ย 

  • Ensuresย logisticsย by managing room reservations, catering orders, audiovisual setup, and physical materials/ inventory ordering and preparation for events.ย 

  • Plansย (OSCE)ย standardizedย patient coordination and checkย requests forย coordination.ย 

  • Maintains data management throughย accurateย electronic records and student files while strictly adhering to FERPA confidentiality guidelines.ย 

  • Performs office operations byย monitoringย departmental email inboxes, field phone calls, andย assistย with general office tasks. Work with PR toย maintainย TV inย hallwayย with current events. Retrieve mailroom packages. Maintain and update plaques and signage. Prepare flash drives for the Exit Interviews.ย Assistย with preparation of CME reports and certificates for preceptors.ย

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSย AND KEYย COMPETENCIES:ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree inย data analysis,ย communications,ย or public relations.ย  ย 
  • Acceptance into a Lake Erie College graduateย programย required.ย ย 
  • Knowledge and skill in using integrated software systems and Microsoftย applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).ย ย 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Committed to confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, andย problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects and initiatives.ย
