Job description

Job Title: College Advancement Ambassador (CAA) Department: Babson Office of Advancement Position Reports To: Associate Director, Student-Alumni Giving Program Overview: The College Advancement Ambassador (CAA) Program is designed to give promising campus leaders the opportunity to engage with prominent alumni and assist the Advancement Office with events and programming throughout the year. Through a direct partnership with the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving team, CAAs receive exclusive opportunities in professional development and networking skills to leverage when representing Babson students at Advancement events. Responsibilities:
  • Attend select required campus & alumni events, which may take place on nights & weekends
    • As stated in the CAA Contract under Mandatory Events
  • Build a bridge between the current student body and alumni
  • Educate current students about Babson traditions, history and the importance of alumni giving
  • Spread the importance of student philanthropy and giving back to Babson
  • Attend, be on time, and be engaged for all training sessions and scheduled meetings
  • Respond, in a timely manner, to communications sent from the Associate Director for Student-Alumni Engagement
  • Collect CAA uniforms from the Advancement Office and ensure they are well-maintained and in good condition for use throughout your tenure as a CAA
    • Reporting, in a timely manner, if apparel needs to be replaced or altered
      • If lost or damaged at the fault of the CAA, they are responsible for paying to have it replaced or repaired, if needed
    • Be able to keep the CAA uniform if remaining in good standing at the conclusion of a CAA's tenure in the position
  • Assist in Affinity programming to help develop future alumni who serve as Babson partners, advocates and supporters
  • Provide customized tours to alumni, donors, prospects, etc. (with advanced notice & training)
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality with alumni information and records
  • Estimated time commitment is between 25-35 hours per semester
  • Other commitments as assigned by the Advancement Office and Associate Director
Qualifications: Required:
  • Maintain full time status as a Babson undergraduate student
  • Maintain a 2.5 minimum as an undergraduate student each semester and cumulative grade point average (GPA) prior to, and during, the contract period
  • Maintain enrollment if one of our Babson Graduate offerings as a graduate student
  • Ability to work select nights and weekends that are scheduled with CAAs ahead of time
Preferred:
  • Professional, outgoing, enthusiastic, and eager to work with the Advancement team's alumni relationship managers, gift officers, and Events staff
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking to alumni, donors, Governance members, and other VIPs in small and large group settings.
