ABOUT ZENATECH

ZenaTech is an AI-driven defense technology company operating across drone manufacturing, AI solutions, and government services. Our proposal function is central to capturing new business and expanding our footprint across federal and DoD programs. We need a sharp Proposal Writer who can translate complex technical capability into compelling, compliant government proposals.


ROLE OVERVIEW

The Proposal Writer is responsible for developing, writing, and editing proposal content in response to government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, Sources Sought). You will collaborate closely with Capture Managers, Program Managers, and SMEs to produce winning proposals โ€” on time, on message, and fully compliant. This is a high-output, deadline-driven role with direct impact on top-line growth.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write, edit, and format proposal sections including executive summaries, technical approaches, management plans, past performance, and staffing narratives
  • Analyze RFP requirements (Section L/M) to ensure proposal compliance and evaluator alignment
  • Develop and maintain proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and content plans
  • Conduct kickoff meetings, storyboarding sessions, and color team reviews
  • Interview SMEs and translate technical input into clear, evaluator-focused proposal language
  • Coordinate with capture managers, contracts, and pricing teams throughout the proposal lifecycle
  • Edit and improve draft content from SMEs for clarity, persuasiveness, and compliance
  • Manage multiple simultaneous proposal efforts across different programs and contract vehicles
  • Maintain a library of reusable proposal content, resumes, and past performance write-ups
  • Support post-submission debriefs and incorporate lessons learned into future proposals


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of proposal writing experience in federal government contracting
  • Demonstrated ability to write and structure winning technical and management volumes
  • Proficiency with Section L/M compliance analysis and compliance matrix development
  • Strong command of English grammar, tone, and persuasive writing techniques
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced proposal environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and proposal tools (Adobe, InDesign a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with defense, UAS, AI, or intelligence community proposals
  • Familiarity with Shipley proposal development methodology or equivalent
  • APMP Foundation or Practitioner certification
  • Experience with GWAC/MAC vehicles (Alliant, OASIS, CIO-SP3, GSA MAS)
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain
