Summary
Redwire Space Missions, LLC is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager based in the Denver, CO area to support multiple programs with a strong background in DoD and commercial satellite program execution, including experience delivering space vehicles, mission payloads, or ground segment products for government agencies such as the Space Development Agency (SDA), U.S. Space Force, AFRL, or NASA. This leader will guide complex space programs from concept through on-orbit operations, ensuring execution consistent with technical, schedule, and contractual requirements. This is considered an onsite role, based out of our Littleton, CO. office. You must have an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Responsibilities
  • Lead execution of DoD, SDA, and commercial satellite programs, ensuring compliance with government contractual requirements, milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, ORR), and interface control processes.
  • Manage spacecraft development efforts including bus, payload, integration & test, and launch campaign coordination.
  • Oversee program performance against Earned Value Management (EVM) principles when required for government programs.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, Gantt charts, and milestone tracking aligned with program objectives; ensure cross-functional alignment through clear communication and expectation setting.
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor deliverables related to hardware, tooling, and test systems, including relationship management, performance oversight, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholder, government customers, and integrators; maintaining alignment of scope, capability delivery timelines, and security requirements.
  • Direct development and delivery of space-qualified hardware, ensuring adherence to mission assurance standards and reliability requirements typical of DoD space missions.
  • Develop project budgets and resource plans; proactively manage resource allocation across competing priorities and provide monthly variance reporting on ETC and EAC.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively preparing for potential project issues and scope creep; facilitate conflict resolution and decision-making to maintain program momentum.
  • Ensure full compliance with cybersecurity, OPSEC, ITAR, and government reporting obligations across program activities.

Ideal Experience
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Jira) and ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 8 or more years of experience managing satellite or spacecraft development programs for DoD, NASA, or commercial space customers.
  • Experienced at delivering on SDA, U.S. Space Force, AFRL, or similar government space contracts.
  • Deep familiarity with spacecraft systems, to include but not limited to avionics, communications payloads, optical payloads, power systems, integration and test, environmental qualification, and mission operations.
  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Jira) and ERP systems.
  • Must be willing to travel as required - 25%.
  • US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations, with the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance.

Desired Skills
  • Proven success delivering satellites or major satellite subsystems in high-reliability environments.
  • Ability to lead through influence, drive alignment, and maintain team engagement under pressure.
  • Experience managing industry partners, prime contractors, and subsystem suppliers within the national security space ecosystem.
  • 10+ years program management experience in space environment.
  • Oversee program performance against Earned Value Management (EVM) principles when required for government programs.
  • Advanced to expert level user preferred Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, resolve conflicts constructively, and maintain strong customer relationships.

Pay Range
$120,000 - $190,000/Yr.

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
