As of 10/01/2021, the MAPA career ladder has changed and is no longer a GS-7/9/11/12/13. UNIT DESCRIPTION
ITS is comprised of four units that utilize a threat-based, intelligence-driven approach to counter and defeat lethal plots and other terrorist activities perpetrated by components of the Government of Iran, Lebanese Hizballah, and their surrogates. ITS is a key component of the Iran Threats Mission Center, located at LX-1, consisting of subject-matter experts from CTD and the Counterintelligence Division, along with counterparts from Cyber Division and other USIC partner agencies.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
  • Must be able to obtain an SCI clearance
  • Some travel may be required
  • Selectee will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 annually
  • Selectee will be required to complete form FD-887, Request for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.
MAJOR DUTIES
  • Work closely and collaboratively with SSAs, IAs, SOSs, and MAPAs to analyze operational and intelligence data from FBI investigations across the country pertaining to Iran and Hizballah.
  • Act in administrative capacity to prepare and organize reports and developments along with division-wide policy changes for dissemination.
  • Serve as a liaison for the FBI to our interagency partners within the US Intelligence Community.
  • Lead or participate in research projects and initiatives for the Iran Threat Section.

GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Experience communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to advise and guide executive management on briefings, projects, and other correspondence.
  • Experience researching, investigating and evaluating new or improved business and management practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
