Senior Accountant (Costpoint / GovCon)
Location: Raleigh, NC area (Hybrid - 1-2 days onsite)
Compensation: $95,000-$115,000
Job Type: FullTime / Permanent
Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a small but growing government contracting organization that supports DoD/Navy programs and is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role is newly created due to growth and will report directly to the CFO in a lean, twoperson accounting function.
This position is ideal for a handson accountant with strong fullcycle accounting experience in a GovCon environment who is comfortable operating in a highimpact, "minicontroller" type role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage fullcycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthend close
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
  • Handle Costpointbased accounting activities, including project and cost accounting
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes
  • Maintain indirect rates, cost pools, and allocations
  • Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and GovCon requirements
  • Assist with audit support and process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong Deltek Costpoint experience required
  • Prior experience in government contracting required
  • Experience handling close in a small or midsized organization
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • CPA preferred but not required
