Job Overview

The Senior Program Coordinator (PC) provides administrative, trainee, and academic support to the Integrative Neuroscience (INNS) MS and our multi-departmental Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience (IPN) PhD program. The PC provides post award administrative support of the IPN training grant program activities and reporting requirements. PC responsibilities for this position include assisting with recruitment; admissions; monitoring the academic progress of all MS and PhD students; alumni and career services outreach efforts; and organizing special events for both programs. This position will also serve as academic coordinator (i.e., course registration through Courseleaf) for the IPN PhD and INNS MS Programs. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Neuroscience.

Work Interactions

The PC reports directly to the chair of Neuroscience. The PC will also be assigned to the faculty director of the INNS MS program and the faculty director for the IPN.. The PC fosters programmatic collaborations across the IPN and MS with the goal of developing consensus programming to meet training requirements across programs at scale. The PC works closely with the Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) offices (admissions, academic affairs, student services, recruitment, career strategy and student engagement, and communications), the Office of the University Registrar, and the Office of Global Services for day to day administration of the IPN and MS programs.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant administrative experience, preferable in biomedical academic settings

  • A collaborative and transparent leadership style, cultural awareness and agility, and have the ability to build trust and credibility

  • Experience working with diverse faculty, student, and trainee populations

  • Demonstrated ability to work productively independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent time management skills and experience managing multiple projects/tasks with conflicting deadlines.

  • Must have well developed organizational skills, advanced communication skills, and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Experience organizing events and programming for faculty and students

  • Proficient with MS office (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and online collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, Dropbox).

  • Demonstrated ability to gain proficiency in and to use diverse software platforms, preferably in academic settings

  • Scheduling and teleconferencing software skills (i.e., Zoom, Google Calendar, Doodle Poll)

  • Undergraduate Degree, preferably in a STEM field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Workday, Slate, and Cognos software

  • Experience with RedCap database platform

  • Experience with website maintenance (e.g. Wordpress)

  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with investigators, sponsors, and cross-functional teams.

Pay Range:

The projectedsalary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
