Job Description
Hearst Television is seeking a Digital Ad Platform Specialist to manage and optimize our digital advertising platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ad platforms, ensuring seamless campaign execution and data accuracy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ad operations, enhance workflows, and ensure proper integration with reporting and analytics systems. This position requires a strong understanding of ad tech platforms, campaign management, and data-driven decision-making. You will report to the Director, Digital Ad Platforms.
This role requires in-office presence. Candidates may be considered for this role at any Hearst Television location.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal corporate sales and product teams to support the development of new digital products.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the digital ad product team, with responsibilities including:
    • Assisting in the research and development (R&D) of new digital products for HTV's owned-and-operated (O&O) sites, core news and streaming apps, and audience extension platforms.
    • Enhancing and improving existing digital products.
    • Coordinating all necessary platform setup tasks for new product rollouts, including end-to-end testing of ordering, trafficking, and reporting processes.
  • Participate in and document all discussions with potential vendors and platforms to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • Take the lead on certifications for third-party vendors and platforms.
  • Create, manage, and maintain all digital ad products within HTV's OMS, including:
    • Creating new products as directed.
    • Updating and enhancing existing products.
    • Managing the deprecation of sunset products.
    • Ensuring compliance with naming conventions and other parameters that impact downstream systems and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in digital advertising operations, ad tech, or platform management roles.
  • Expertise in digital advertising platforms such as Google Ad Manager, DV360, The Trade Desk, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of order management systems (OMS), workflow platforms, and ad trafficking processes.
  • Proficiency in analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics).
  • Familiarity with tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager) and troubleshooting ad tags.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Compensation
The estimated base salary range for this role is between $83,000 and $105,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
