Job description

About the role:
OfferUp is looking for a high-impact People Business Partner (PBP) who thrives at the intersection of coaching and building. We need a partner who can be the trusted "first call" for our managers while simultaneously owning the end-to-end execution of the programs that make our people experience exceptional.
In this role, you will be a key member of our "small but mighty" People Team. You will leverage data and business insights to drive solutions that move the business forward, whether you are coaching a manager through a real-time challenge or optimizing our performance management cycles. This position requires strategic foresight, high EQ, and the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization. You'll partner closely with the Director of People and a talented People "pod" with enough autonomy to make your mark and enough support to go far.
Here's more of what you will get to do:
  • Manager Coaching & Employee Relations: Serve as the trusted first call for in-the-moment coaching on employee relations, performance management, and team dynamics.
  • Manager Enablement: Act as a developmental editor for performance documentation (PIPs, annual reviews, and feedback) and build the toolkits and frameworks that equip managers to lead self-sufficiently across the frontline.
  • Program Design & Execution: Own the end-to-end design, launch, and project management of core people programs, including Performance Management, Merit/Promotion cycles, and Engagement Surveys.
  • Systems Power-User: Act as the primary configuration and reporting lead for Culture Amp; producing executive-ready visualizations and identifying data trends to influence people strategy.
  • Content Optimization: Transform internal frameworks and leadership philosophies into professional, "ready-to-wear" toolkits and resources.
  • Global Administration: Direct the administrative lifecycle for nearshore professionals via the Globalization Partners portal, managing contracts, bonuses, and job changes.
  • Onboarding Excellence: Facilitate the cultural onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring immediate alignment with OfferUp's mission and values.

You'll be a great fit if you have:
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a high-growth tech environment or startup.
  • Advisory Muscle: Proven ability to coach managers and influence outcomes without direct authority; expert-level interpersonal communication skills.
  • Programmatic Mindset: Experience managing or contributing to HR programs with a focus on operational excellence and optimization.
  • Technical Proficiency: High comfort level in the "back-end" of HRIS systems (ADP/Culture Amp); configuration experience is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: You enjoy using data to tell a compelling story and identifying gaps in the employee experience before being asked.
  • Operational Agility: You thrive in the balance of high-level advisory work and the roll-up-your-sleeves work of system administration.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with global workforce administration (LATAM) and familiarity with EOR platforms like Globalization Partners.

Compensation Range: $125,000 - $140,000
OfferUp offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. Individual salaries within our ranges are determined through a variety of factors including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. All roles will receive equity in OfferUp as part of their compensation, the amount of equity varying depending on the individual's level and experience.
In addition to our compensation package, this role is eligible to enroll in health insurance, healthcare savings and spending accounts, retirement savings benefits (401(k) plan with match), basic and voluntary life insurance, disability benefits, and paid time off for sick leave, family and/or medical leave, vacation, and 12 company holidays. In regard to vacation time, OfferUp has a flexible vacation policy and, in general, full-time exempt employees will be expected to take 3-5 weeks (15-30 days) of pre-planned vacation time per year. Vacation needs are flexible and will naturally vary from year to year based on individual circumstances and business needs. In regard to sick time, all full-time employees (exempt and non-exempt) will be granted 12 days (96 hours) of sick time per year (pro-rated if they start a date other than January 1). Your recruiter can share more details about specific benefits during the interview process.
