Job description

About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 15

The Team

The Global Strategic Accounts team is responsible for the overall strategy, growth, and health of S&P Dow Jones Indices' relationships with a focused portfolio of the world's largest asset management clients. Leveraging deep industry knowledge to engage at the executive level, the team partners across S&P DJI and the broader S&P Global enterprise to shape and execute client strategy, ensuring revenue and relationship objectives are consistently met.

Responsibilities and Impact
  • Lead the strategy, execution, and commercial performance of a focused portfolio of S&P Dow Jones Indices' most significant global asset management relationships, with clear accountability for growth, retention, and relationship health at both the individual account and portfolio level
  • Establish a disciplined internal account planning and review cadence, conducting in-depth strategic reviews of each account alongside portfolio-level reviews that assess performance, opportunity, and risk in the aggregate
  • Build and own a metrics-driven operating model for the team, including account and portfolio scorecards and executive dashboards that track commercial performance, share of wallet, pipeline development, and depth of relationship connectivity across asset classes and regions, and report regularly on portfolio health to S&P DJI and S&P Global senior leadership
  • Lead a consistent rhythm of executive business reviews and joint business planning with each client, and serve as the senior point of escalation for complex or sensitive client matters
  • Develop and implement account strategies that identify expansion opportunities, optimize product penetration, and support long‑term client retention across the indices portfolio
  • Own commercial outcomes across the portfolio, leading complex negotiations, renewals, pricing strategy, and multi‑year enterprise agreements in partnership with legal, finance, and product colleagues
  • Engage early in each client's product development and launch pipeline, positioning S&P Dow Jones Indices as the partner of choice for new product initiatives
  • Build and maintain C‑suite relationships with key strategic accounts, serving as the primary executive sponsor and trusted advisor and deepening senior leadership connectivity between client organizations and the firm
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing global strategic accounts team, setting clear goals and performance expectations and fostering a culture of accountability and client excellence
  • Partner collaboratively with product, sales, marketing, legal, and operations colleagues across S&P DJI, and with enterprise client coverage partners across S&P Global, ensuring the strategic accounts program complements and amplifies the work of regional and functional teams
  • Serve as the voice of the client within the organization, channeling client insight and market feedback into product, service, and strategic planning priorities
  • Bring a structured, forward‑looking view of industry trends into account strategy, positioning S&P Dow Jones Indices as the preferred long‑term partner for institutional clients globally
Compensation/Benefits Information

(This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $176,306 to $331,045. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking ForBasic Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in strategic account management, client relationship management, or business development within financial services
  • Proven track record of managing complex, large‑scale client relationships and driving significant revenue growth in institutional markets
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, investment management, and index‑based products and services
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high‑performing teams in a global, matrixed organization
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to build credibility and trust at the C‑suite level with sophisticated institutional clients and with senior internal stakeholders alike
  • Proven ability to navigate a complex, matrixed organization and to lead through influence, partnership, and consensus rather than positional authority
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strategic and analytical depth, with a demonstrated ability to translate data and client insight into long‑term account strategies that deliver measurable business results, and genuine comfort with scorecards, metrics, and structured account planning
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex commercial negotiations and structuring large, multi‑year enterprise agreements with institutional clients
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, domestically and internationally, in support of a global client portfolio
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with index providers, asset managers, or other financial data and analytics companies, with specific knowledge of passive investment strategies and ETF markets
  • Track record of successfully managing global accounts across multiple regions, with experience navigating diverse regulatory environments and cultural business practices
  • Experience designing and leading structured account planning processes, executive business reviews, and performance scorecards or dashboards
  • Demonstrated success driving cross‑functional collaboration and organizational change in large, complex financial services organizations, with a reputation as a trusted and unifying partner across teams
