Job description

Job Type
Full-time
Description
Full Swing is the leader in sports technology, revolutionizing the way athletes and enthusiasts train, play, and experience the game. Trusted by the world's best golfers including Tiger Woods, Jon Rahm, and Jordan Spieth, Full Swing delivers industry-leading golf simulators and launch monitors used both at home and on the PGA Tour. We blend cutting-edge hardware and software to bring golf to life like never before.
Join our team as a Strategic Buyer and play a key role in driving sourcing strategies that support business growth, operational excellence, and long-term supplier partnerships. In this role, you will lead strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned categories, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply solutions that align with company objectives.
The Strategic Buyer is responsible for managing the full sourcing lifecycle, including supplier development, contract negotiations, RFQ/RFP processes, cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation strategies. You will collaborate closely with Operational Buyers and cross-functional teams to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), strengthen supplier relationships, and support uninterrupted operations across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong partnerships while delivering measurable value.
What You Will Do:
Supplier Base Development & Category Management
  • Identify, qualify, and develop the supplier base for the assigned spend categories (direct materials, indirect materials, and/or services), aligned with category strategies and corporate sourcing principles.
  • Conduct market intelligence and supply market analysis - capacity, technology, cost drivers, regulatory trends, competitive landscape - to inform sourcing decisions and identify new supplier opportunities.
  • Lead supplier onboarding and qualification, including financial, technical, quality, sustainability, and compliance due diligence in partnership with Quality, Finance, Legal, and EHS.
  • Develop and maintain category strategies (3-5 year horizon) with clear objectives on cost, quality, service, innovation, sustainability, and risk.
  • Manage the strategic supplier portfolio - segmenting suppliers (strategic, preferred, transactional, phase-out) and shaping the base toward the desired structure.
  • Drive global sourcing strategies by actively seeking and developing new international supplier relationships and outsourcing opportunities aligned with business needs and growth initiatives.

Contract Negotiation, Pricing & Incoterms
  • Negotiate long-term contracts, master service agreements, pricing frameworks, rebates, volume commitments, payment terms, and Incoterms with strategic and preferred suppliers.
  • Define and document commercial terms (price formulas, indexation, currency, lead times, MOQs, liability, IP, confidentiality, termination clauses) in partnership with Legal and Finance.
  • Maintain a structured contract repository with clear visibility on validity, renewals, escalations, and key obligations; proactively manage the contract pipeline to avoid expiry gaps.
  • Ensure negotiated terms are accurately reflected in the ERP system (NetSuite) so the Operational Buyer can execute purchase orders against the correct prices, payment terms, and lead times.
  • Lead annual price negotiations, indexation reviews, and cost recovery initiatives with key suppliers in alignment with corporate financial targets.

Supplier Performance & Risk Management
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs including delivery, quality, responsiveness, cost, and sustainability metrics.
  • Lead supplier business reviews, corrective action plans, supplier development initiatives, and resourcing activities when necessary.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including single-source dependency, capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, financial instability, and regulatory concerns.
  • Support contingency planning through dual sourcing, alternate supplier qualification, and supply continuity strategies.
  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing events (RFI, RFQ, RFP, e-auctions) following the Competitive Bidding policy - scope definition, supplier shortlist, evaluation criteria, award recommendation, and stakeholder approval.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with company policies, supplier code of conduct, ESG expectations, and applicable regulations.

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Reduction & Value Engineering
  • Drive TCO reduction initiatives across pricing, logistics, inventory, quality, and lifecycle costs.
  • Partner with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality on value engineering and specification optimization initiatives.
  • Utilize cost analysis methods including should-cost modeling, TCO analysis, clean-sheet costing, supplier consolidation, and low-cost-country sourcing.
  • Track and report cost savings, cost avoidance, and working capital improvements in partnership with Finance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Partner closely with Operational Buyers to ensure strategic agreements support effective day-to-day procurement execution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Planning, Legal, Quality, and Sustainability teams to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives through supplier selection, design-to-cost efforts, qualification activities, and production readiness.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by providing sourcing recommendations, supplier insights, and market intelligence.
  • Perform other duties as assign.

Requirements
Do You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or related field required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management within manufacturing, industrial, technology, or similarly complex environments.
  • Proven experience managing RFQ/RFP processes, supplier negotiations, and long-term supplier relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement compliance, Incoterms 2020, and supplier risk management.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and sourcing or contract management platforms such as Coupa, SAP Ariba, Jaggaer, Ivalua, or Icertis.
  • Advanced analytical skills including should-cost modeling, TCO analysis, and pricing analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting/BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

What Will Make You a Rockstar:
  • ISM CPSM, APICS CPIM/CSCP, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma, or related certifications.
  • Experience sourcing and managing international suppliers and outsourcing partnerships required.
  • Familiarity with sustainable procurement, supplier diversity, scope-3 emissions tracking, and ESG due diligence frameworks.
  • Experience with e-auctions and digital negotiation platforms.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

What We Offer:
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package - Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus more
  • 401(k) with Company Match - Up to 4% contribution match
  • Paid Time Off - Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Supportive Work Environment - A relaxed, non-corporate atmosphere
  • Team Culture - Engaging team bonding events and activities
  • Onsite Wellness - Access to a personal trainer and gym facilities for a healthy work-life balance
  • Bonus: In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a target annual bonus opportunity of 10% tied to company and individual performance

Work Environment:
The role operates in a hybrid or office-based environment depending on business needs, with standard working hours and occasional after-hours support required for negotiations across time zones or supplier escalations. Frequent interaction with internal departments and external suppliers is expected, requiring strong collaboration and influencing skills. The position is primarily seated and involves extensive use of computer-based ERP, sourcing, and productivity systems. Travel of up to 15-25% may be required to visit supplier sites, attend industry events, and travel to other company locations for negotiations, audits, QBRs, and supplier development activities.
