Securities Lending Operations Analyst

Pay Rate:$23:00/hr

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Duration: 6 Months

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Securities Lending Operations Analyst to support Global Banking & Markets Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activities related to securities lending transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing while minimizing operational risk. This role requires close collaboration with Business, Trading, Engineering, Credit, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional service, improve processes, and maintain strong operational controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Business, Engineering, Operations, Credit, Trading Desks, and external counterparties.
  • Process securities lending transactions accurately within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor and book recall requests for borrowed securities from various lenders.
  • Monitor and process returns on securities loans with external counterparties.
  • Process amendments and returns based on counterparty feedback.
  • Manage cancelled returns resulting from internal or vendor system issues.
  • Communicate daily with the trading desk regarding outstanding recalled securities.
  • Resolve operational queries with trading desks, lenders, and counterparties.
  • Manage collateral and margin movements associated with securities lending settlements and mark-to-market activities.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in cash and securities positions.
  • Complete daily operational control checklists and ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Identify operational risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and root-cause analysis to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement while supporting business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Securities Lending Operations within an investment bank, broker-dealer, custody bank, or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of securities lending lifecycle, recalls, returns, settlements, and collateral management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience identifying operational improvements and supporting automation initiatives.
