Job description

Global Accounts Payable Supervisor

Our client is seeking a Global Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead a team and oversee procure-to-pay activities across multiple business units. This individual will manage daily AP operations, resolve complex issues, monitor performance, and drive process improvements and automation.

This is a full-time, on-site position in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Relocation assistance may be available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of AP professionals.
  • Oversee invoice processing, matching, approvals, payment runs, accruals, and exception resolution.
  • Monitor workloads, productivity, accuracy, payment timeliness, and service levels.
  • Resolve escalated vendor inquiries and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Procurement, and Operations on payments, reconciliations, close activities, and matching discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, SOX requirements, and audit standards.
  • Support ERP enhancements, AP automation, training, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with audits, regulatory reporting, unclaimed property requirements, and fraud-prevention controls.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • At least three years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Previous AP leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and related GAAP principles.
  • Experience resolving complex vendor and payment issues.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Process-improvement experience; Lean or Kaizen knowledge is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
