These skills ensure accurate data management and support effective decision-making in geospatial projects.

What are GIS Apprentices?

GIS Apprentices are entry-level professionals who learn how to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to collect, analyze, and visualize geographic data. They usually work under the supervision of experienced GIS specialists or analysts and assist with mapping projects, data management, and spatial analysis. The apprenticeship provides hands-on experience with GIS software, field data collection, and problem-solving skills relevant to urban planning, environmental science, and other fields.
