Job description

Synergetics is a consulting and advisory firm built on relationships — roughly 90% of revenue today is referral- or relationship-driven. In 2026, we are building our first dedicated marketing function to broaden the top of the funnel, equip our Managing Directors with better selling tools, and reintroduce the firm to buyers who matter most. The Senior Marketing Associate role is critical to the development of that team.

LOCATION: Hybrid role. Requires at least 2 days in office, Portsmouth, NH

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Marketing Associate owns Synergetics’ content engine - the editorial calendar, the writing, and the distribution that earns conversations with our target personas. You’ll partner with our Managing Directors to translate deep subject-matter expertise into thought leadership, case studies, and sales enablement assets that work in two registers at once: building the brand at the top of the funnel and giving Managing Directors sharper tools at the bottom.

You will partner closely with our Digital Marketing Manager on what to publish and where, ensuring every asset is leveraged across channels.

Responsibilities:
  • Editorial calendar. Personabased, mapped to our messaging and content pillars and to our three priority audiences (Private Equity Operating Partners, Value Creation leads, sponsorfirm MDs).
  • Longform content. Thought leadership pieces, white papers, and case studies. Case studies are the highestleverage credibility asset for our buyer set they are a yearone priority.
  • Distribution on LinkedIn. Posting content from the company LinkedIn page. Building a repeatable motion, including content optimization and a regular posting cadence.
  • Newsletter. Strategy, production, and growth. Work with our designer on the design and execution a quarterly newsletter to engage contacts.
  • Sales enablement copy. MD talk tracks, outreach email sequences (cold, warmreferral, postmeeting), onepagers and cases as required.
  • SEO and GEO content strategy. In partnership with the Digital Marketing Manager and our SEO/GEO vendor, help ensure we’re developing content that shows up where buyers are looking.
  • YEAR-ONE SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Personabased editorial calendar published and running on a predictable cadence.

  • 1,500 newsletter subscribers and a +20% lift in firm LinkedIn followers by yearend.
  • Quarterly brief to leadership on what is resonating, what needs adjustment, and what is next.
  • WHO YOU ARE
  • 47 years in B2B content marketing, ideally in professional services, consulting, financial services, or another expertiseheavy environment.
  • A strong writer. Portfolio of longform work you have shipped thought leadership, case studies, executive content. We will read your samples.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency in your actual writing and editorial workflow. We will ask you to walk us through real examples.
  • Comfortable interviewing senior partners or Managing Directors and translating their expertise into clear, sharp prose. You can run a 30minute SME conversation and walk out with everything you need to ship.
  • Strong editorial judgment. You know what is worth writing, what is not, and how to keep MDs (and leadership) on schedule without being a nag.
  • Accountbased, salesaware mindset. This is content built to drive specific conversations with named PE firms, not vanity reach.
  • NICE TO HAVE
  • Direct experience writing to private equity audiences or in a PEadjacent advisory practice.
  • Experience building a content function from scratch including the playbooks, the SME accountability mechanics, and the editorial governance.
  • Comfort with LinkedInfirst executive content programs: ghostwriting, profile optimization, and distribution mechanics.
