Job description

HR Generalist
Department: People
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Atlanta
Reporting To: Ana Alvarez
Description
We're looking for a hands-on HR Generalist to be our go-to people professional in the US. This is a pivotal hire: as we grow our Atlanta team significantly this year, you'll own the full employee lifecycle from HR operations and compliance to coaching managers through complex employee relations cases.
You'll be supported by an Office and Recruitment Coordinator and our Global HR team for complex escalations, but day-to-day, this role is yours to shape. We're looking for someone who thrives in a scaling environment, brings structure where it's needed, and genuinely cares about building a people-first culture not just processing paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations and Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Own HR compliance for US employment laws and regulations, keeping policies current as the business grows
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve HR policies and procedures appropriate for a scaling US workforce
  • Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and documentation
  • Partner with the Office and Recruitment Coordinator on hiring administration and onboarding

Employee Relations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all employee relations matters, handling cases with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Coach and advise managers on ER issues, performance conversations, and people decisions
  • Escalate complex cases with clear recommendations and supporting documentation
  • Support performance review cycles and ensure a consistent, fair approach across the business

People and Culture
  • Partner with managers on workforce planning as headcount grows through the year
  • Contribute to building a culture where people feel supported, valued, and able to do their best work
  • Collaborate with our L&D Manager to identify training needs and develop targeted programmes
  • Spot what isn't working and fix it proactively driving continuous improvement across people processes
  • Promote continuous improvement across people processes, if something isn't working, fix it

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 4-6 years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in a scaling SME, startup, or tech/fintech environment
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification
  • Confident handling ER cases independently and advising managers at all levels
  • Solid knowledge of US employment law; Georgia-specific experience is essential, multi-state experience is a plus
  • Equally comfortable with the strategic and the operational; drafting a policy in the morning, resolving a payroll query in the afternoon
  • Low-ego, collaborative approach - you build trust quickly and bring people along with you
  • Based in Atlanta and happy to be on-site most days
  • Fintech, financial services, or technology sector background is desirable but not essential

Benefits
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • 401(k) / IRA Retirement Plan
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity & Paternity)
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
  • Training & Development
  • Free Food & Snacks in the office
