Job description

  • Assist with the month end process, as it relates to payroll costs, and ensure all work is completed on time with all relevant accounts reconciled
  • Ensure the balance sheets, as they relate to all payroll accounts are a fair reflection of the assets of the hotels
  • Ensure reporting is timely, accurate and consistent with the financial accounts so that the PandL/Balance sheets reconcile to the trial balance and where proof of reconciliations can be provided on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for reports, including the Balanced Scorecard, that incorporates benchmarking, productivity, identification and measurement of key performance indicators, where both historical and forecasted performance is tracked
  • Ensure Team Member pay queries are resolved on a timely basis
  • Monitor actual hours to contracted hours
  • Ensure effective controls are in place over payroll expenses
  • Work with Finance Manager, Payroll Assistant and IT Project Teams to deliver system and process improvements to enhance Payroll function efficiency
  • Responsible for ensuring that all team members are paid for hours worked in a timely manner.
  • Oversees vacation and sick accruals, team member deductions and federal/state reporting.
  • Reviews accuracy of payroll and deductions.
  • Responsible for labor management system.
  • Work with department managers and accounting staff to monitor compliance with labor standard. Perform Labor Management weekly meetings.
  • Oversee payroll systems such that all team members in the hotel are paid for hour’s reported and applicable statutes and regulations are fully complied with.
  • Prepares payroll reports, conducts annual record retention procedures, assist in processing quarterly, year-end-closings.
  • Responsible for accounting duties related to payroll system: payroll accrual, vacation accrual, medical plan and deductions allocations, union dues payment, etc.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations and advise department managers as to all pertinent payroll information.
  • Any other tasks assigned by General Manager or Director of Finance.
