EMPLOYEE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The engineer will be responsible for the technical and engineering support of NGC US wind turbine and other gearboxes remanufacturing and field service activities. The main objective is to support the engineering, production, sales, and service teams. The goal is to improve NGC US competency level to expert status for the remanufacture and service of wind turbine and industrial gear drives. Responsibilities include:
  • Reports to the Engineering Manager.
  • Regularly communicates with other engineers, sales, production and field service technicians, and team leaders.
  • Writing and reviewing process procedures for gearbox activities including but not limited to disassembly, assembly, and testing of wind turbine and industrial gearboxes, and servicing wind turbine and industrial gearboxes in the field.
  • Writing and reviewing inspection reports for wind turbines and other gearboxes inspected inside and outside of the NGC US facility.
  • Designing tool for the production and field service teams to the requirements of applicable industry standards using the appropriate engineering calculations and software. This includes defining testing methods/procedures in accordance with industry specified standards or internal testing requirements in the absence of industry standard requirements.
  • Working with the production and quality teams to improve NGC US process capability in the remanufacture of wind turbines and industrial gearboxes.
  • Using engineering analysis techniques to respond to production and service issues.
  • Training production and field technicians in correctly and safely performing process procedures.
  • Occasionally performing manual tasks such as disassembling, assembling, and cleaning gearbox components and related tooling.
  • Communicating with both US and China engineering and service teams to support production and field service projects.
  • May serve as a project team member on project implementations; independently completing assigned tasks of low to high complexity resulting in successful and on-time work results.
  • Providing exceptional internal support and customer service skills with expertise in RCA, troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving complex mechanical related problems.
  • Working professionally with all Company and customer staff members when required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical background, preferably gearing related.
  • Must have a customer focused attitude and excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Must have technical knowledge of power transmission products and applications as well as experience working with project management practices and resources.
  • A strong knowledge of marketing fundamentals is also required.
  • Proficiency with Adobeยฎ, Microsoftยฎ Office, ERP, Solidworks and other internal programs.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Master's degree in engineering or education comparable to experience in the industry is preferred.
  • Minimum one to three years' related experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to obtain a thorough understanding of NGC products.
