Job description

As an intern in DEME’s Digital Office, you’ll work hands-on on the organization of a company-wide Security Awareness Week. You’ll help set up activities, create communication materials, support events, and coordinate practical actions for employees, from crew to office staff across all DEME entities. This internship is about doing: making security topics like cybersecurity and data protection clear, engaging, and relevant through an event that is part of a bigger awareness campaign.

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Technical Works Manager to optimize fleet intervention projects. In this role, you will ensure that schedules align with production priorities and are executed seamlessly. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong planning and coordination skills, we invite you to join our team and contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our operations.

Within DEME’s Fleet Interventions Team, we organize and execute all vessel maintenance, repairs and dry dockings — from medium-sized interventions to large, complex projects that are prepared up to nine months in advance.

As Technical Works Manager, you play a crucial role between a.o. Technical Engineering, Vessel Management and execution teams. Once it is known when a vessel will enter dry dock or undergo repairs, you take the lead in translating technically prepared work packages into feasible, detailed and executable planning and schedules. Your expertise lies in ensuring that everything is planned, aligned, sequenced and prepared so execution can run safely, efficiently and within budget.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, coordination and detail, and who understands that excellent execution starts with outstanding preparation.

The Project Manager Fleet Interventions is responsible for the end-to-end execution of the scope of work for a vessel intervention period (maintenance, repair, mobilisation, conversion, installation of mission equipment, ..) and redelivery. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to stringent quality and safety standards, while also obtaining high vessel performance and reliability post-redelivery.

To further increase the mechanical reliability of our global fleet of vessels, we’re strengthening our in house expertise in heavy mechanical systems and power transmission. We are looking for a senior Gearbox (Reliability) Expert who analyzes mechanical failures at their root, through calculation, design evaluation and deep engineering insight and who independently analyzes complex mechanical systems at system and component level, to go beyond maintenance-based assumptions.

This role focuses on understanding how mechanical systems are designed, function, fail and how to prevent recurrence, with direct impact on the long term reliability of critical assets across the fleet and business units.

In this senior expert role, you will take ownership of complex, non standard mechanical reliability topics with fleet wide relevance. Profiles with a purely maintenance-driven or shipbuilding-focused background are less suited for this position.

As a Lead Engineer - New Builds within the Fleet Investments department, you play a key role in the technical realization of DEME’s new build vessels and asset development projects. You are responsible for coordinating and steering the engineering scope from concept development through to detailed design and construction support.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you ensure that the technical solution delivered is fully aligned with the initial requirements, meets performance expectations, and is realized within the defined timeline. You act as the central engineering lead, integrating inputs across disciplines and guiding both internal and external engineering partners.

Depending on the project size, you either act as the right hand of the Project Manager on large, complex projects, or take full ownership of smaller engineering projects from A to Z.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you play a leading role in solving complex electrical challenges across DEME's fleet of offshore and dredging vessels. You combine technical expertise with strong project management skills to prepare, coordinate, and deliver electrical upgrades, maintenance campaigns, and improvement projects on some of the world's most advanced vessels.

This is not a sailing or crew position. You will work primarily from our Belgian headquarters, where you prepare, coordinate, and manage technical projects for our vessels. Sporadically, you will travel to a vessel, shipyard, supplier, or project location to perform assessments, support implementation, or oversee critical project phases.

Working across multiple vessels, you ensure electrical systems remain safe, reliable, and future-ready while contributing to the continuous improvement of our offshore and dredging operations. As a senior member of the team, you will not only provide technical guidance but also take ownership of projects from preparation through execution.

At DEME, reliable maintenance starts with reliable data. We are looking for a Digital Data Engineer to strengthen our CMMS team and take ownership of the next phase of our maintenance data digitalization journey.

In this role, you will act as the driving force behind maintenance data initiatives, ensuring that critical information from our vessels and newbuild projects is collected, validated, structured, and transformed into high-quality digital assets. You will work closely with maintenance, reliability, fleet engineering, and IT stakeholders to ensure our maintenance management systems contain the right data to support efficient and reliable vessel operations.

The role combines project leadership, data governance, stakeholder management, and a strong affinity for maintenance processes and asset management.

Involved in all dredging and offshore projects worldwide, the survey department is responsible for the organisation of all hydrographic and topographic measurements in all phases of the works. We are looking for a Party Chief who will be responsible for all survey activities on board. Are you able to lead the team of surveyors?

As a Works Manager, you are responsible for the operational execution of the works on site. You can rely on a team of site superintendents and project engineers. You report directly to the project manager. You focus on the bigger scheme of things whereas the superintendents deal with day to day issues.

We are currently looking for an experienced Works Manager who can manage (large) offshore subsea cable installation projects, having both a strong engineering but also installation background.
