Job description

Job Description Summary
The Dicing/Grinding Technician is responsible for executing and continuously improving wafer dicing and grinding processes. This role requires strong technical judgment, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and management teams to support production, new product introductions, and process optimization initiatives.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Process Execution & Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement in dicing and grinding processes to enhance performance, yield, and reliability.
  • Construct, evaluate, and refine complex engineering models using conceptual inputs and technical judgment.
  • Identify process gaps and proactively recommend and implement corrective actions.

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
  • Anticipate issues and perform advanced troubleshooting involving multiple variables and unknowns.
  • Lead root cause investigations for product issues, including (but not limited to) dicing, grinding, and transducer-related failures.
  • Develop and execute diagnostic tests and experiments to validate hypotheses and support problem resolution.

Technical Communication & Collaboration
  • Use advanced technical communication skills to influence improvements on internal models and externally sourced components.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to create or revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through feasibility studies and formal validation testing.

Training & Support
  • Partner with management to create, lead, and deploy training plans.
  • Assist production teams with certification activities and provide hands-on technical guidance as needed.

Work Practices & Compliance
  • Perform job activities with little to no direction while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
  • Ensure adherence to all EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) regulations, procedures, and company policies.

Qualifications
Required
  • Associate degree or High School diploma with 3+ years of technical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot at the system level using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong ability to interpret test data, diagnose process deviations, and implement corrective measures.
  • High proficiency in interpreting and communicating complex technical information.
  • Experience using and modifying computerized work systems (MES, SPC tools, equipment software, etc.).
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to staying current with relevant technologies and industry best practices.
