Job Summary:

As a GE Wind Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of GE wind turbines. This position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to maximize turbine performance and reliability. Under the guidance of the Maintenance Lead, you will contribute to high levels of turbine availability while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities.


Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of GE wind turbines to identify any mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on turbine components, ensuring continued operational efficiency.
  • Component Replacement: Replace faulty parts, perform upgrades, and ensure all components are in optimal working condition.
  • Follow Protocols: Adhere to GE maintenance documentation and checklists during maintenance activities.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Safety Adherence: Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Environmental & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards on all job sites.
  • Workplace Safety: Report any safety concerns and participate in safety training and tailboard meetings.

Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting:

  • Stay Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest GE wind turbine technologies and industry best practices.
  • Collaborative Troubleshooting: Work closely with the Maintenance Lead and GE technical support to resolve complex turbine issues efficiently.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintenance Logs: Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, including logs for LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), PDRs, tailboards and maintenance checklists.
  • Effective Communication: Report and communicate effectively with site management and the Maintenance Lead Technician to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in wind energy or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance, specifically on GE turbines.
  • Preferred: Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in wind energy systems.
