GE Appliances is seeking a Capital Equipment Program Lead - Metal Stamping to lead high-impact capital equipment initiatives across our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will drive the design, procurement, installation, and launch of large-scale metal stamping presses and auxiliary systems that enable safe, efficient, and world-class production.
This position blends deep technical expertise with project leadership. You'll partner cross-functionally to deliver equipment solutions that maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), support Lean manufacturing strategies, and meet all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements. If you thrive in complex manufacturing environments and enjoy bringing large capital projects from concept to production, this role offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact at scale.

Capital Equipment Program Lead - Metal Stamping

How You'll Create Possibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of large metal stamping presses and auxiliary equipment.
  • Own project execution by managing schedules, milestones, risks, and overall progress.
  • Engineer equipment solutions that optimize OEE, reliability, and long-term performance.
  • Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles throughout equipment and process development.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry and governmental EHS standards.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to support Lean Manufacturing, ergonomic design, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop Manufacturing Control Plans (MCP), Manufacturing Control Instructions (MCI), and support Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA).

What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines, Journeymen ORgraduate of a certified tool & die apprenticeship program
  • 7+ years total experience with tooling procurement as well as tool and die design concepts, die components and applications. Experience should include:
    • At least 3 years managing large metal stamping related capital equipment projects for mechanical/servo transfer presses / progressive die presses.
    • At least 5 years' experience with progressively more complex Metal Stamping projects.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Developed specifications, selected suppliers, conducted technical reviews, and managed installation and qualification of equipment.
  • Procured press auxiliary equipment such as transfer systems, coil feeders, leveler systems, and de-stacker systems.
  • Extensive experience in high-volume metal stamping environments for large Tier 1 suppliers or OEMs.
  • Proficient in simulation software (Auto Form or equivalent) and understanding relevant input parameters.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Lean process improvements in manufacturing operations.
  • Previous involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Skilled in MS Office, MS Scheduler (or equivalent), and AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with 3D CAD software (ProE, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
  • Knowledgeable in Quick Die Changeover (QDC) methods and practices.
  • Experience with proximity and fiber-optic die protection sensors.
  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.

Working Conditions:
  • Working within both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Projects may require temporary working, off-shift, shutdowns or weekends.

Travel:
  • 15-20% travel may be required during peak project times for domestic and/or international travel to supplier sites/ plants, etc.
